Joseph “Joey” Self, transitioned from a successful mortgage loan officer in Honolulu to HAWAII PACIFIC APPRAISAL SERVICE in 2009, learning the business from the ground up from his father. He is now the head of the company. His experience as a residential appraiser includes foreclosures, flips, renovations, units and much more in addition to the usual single family and condo standard appraisals.

William “Bill” Self began his long career as a real estate appraiser in 1976 in California. He appraised up and down the state from central California to San Diego, from the ocean to the inland cities. He relocated his company to Kaua’i in 1989, and from there to O’ahu in 1995, where he was tapped for Chief Review Appraiser – Pacific Rim which included all the Hawaiian Islands. He taught the pre-licensing classes at KCC on Kaua’i and had his own state approved appraisal pre-licensing school on O’ahu. It was on O’ahu that he formed his current company, HAWAII PACIFIC APPRAISAL SERVICE. As both a residential and commercial appraiser, licensed in California, Kansas, and Hawai’i, he has appraised a wide variety of properties including ultra luxury residential homes, schools, strip malls, gas stations, agricultural properties, office buildings, retail properties, raw land and subdivisions.

He is currently a consultant and reviewer for the company.
